Veneta Cucine at the 2025 Architecture Biennale: where design, innovation and sustainability meet.

2025/9/3

The exhibition entitled "Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collective." is curated by Carlo Ratti, an architect and town planner with an international reputation. The curated project explores the relationship between natural, artificial and collective intelligence, with a particular focus on sustainability as a guiding principle for the future of architecture and for living our lives.

For Veneta Cucine, taking part in the Biennale as a donor is an opportunity to reinforce the dialogue between industry, architecture and sustainable innovation, to make a concrete contribution to building a smarter and more aware future.

Carlo Ratti, with his experience and innovative vision, invites us to reflect on a new model of collective and sustainable intelligence. His words provide a perspective that matches perfectly Veneta Cucine’s commitment to a more responsible future. We are united in a vision that is reflected in our shared concept of intelligence, which we conceive of as an integrated and sustainable approach to design, production and living.

For Veneta Cucine, sustainability is not just a trend, but a definite and long-standing commitment that is embodied in responsible manufacturing practices and by constant monitoring of environmental impact. The company was championing these values long before they became a globally recognized need.

Carlo Ratti’s career as a curator meshes nature, technology and collectivity, an approach that Veneta Cucine wholeheartedly supports; his words clearly reflect the vision that drives the 2025 Architecture Biennale.

“When the systems on which we have long based out understanding start to fail, new ways of thinking are necessary. For decades, architecture has responded to the climate crisis with mitigation: drawing up designs to reduce our impact on the climate. But this approach is no longer sufficient. It is the moment for architecture to embrace the field of adaptation: rethinking the way we design in response to a deeply changed world.

Adaptation entails overhauling the way we do things. This year’s exhibition, Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collective., calls on different types of intelligence to work together to rethink the built environment.  The exhibition’s very title, Intelligens, contains the Latin word gens (“people”) and calls on us to experiment beyond the limits of a focus restricted to Artificial Intelligence and digital technologies.

In the age of adaptation, architecture is a central point that needs to guide the process with optimism. In the age of adaptation, architecture must draw on all forms of intelligence: natural, artificial, collective. In the age of adaptation, architecture has to address different generations and different disciplines, from exact sciences to the arts. In the age of adaptation, architecture has to rethink the concept of authorship and become more inclusive, learning from the sciences.

Architecture has to become flexible and dynamic, just like the world for which it drawing up projects.

The 2025 Architecture Biennale wants to be more than an exhibition: it is an experiment in blending different voices and forms of intelligence. Some will have greater resonance than others; others may clash and produce discordant tones. Nevertheless, we hope that this choral effort offers new points to ponder about one of the most important challenges of our time: adapting to an altered world.”
