Reflections between nature, technology and culture on contemporary living.
On Saturday 11 October, in the unique setting of the GENS Public Programme of the 2025 Architecture Biennale, in the Speakers’ Corner at the Corderie dell’ Arsenale, the workshop “Intelligens and Interior Design: the Evolution of Domestic Spaces” took place. This event brought together leading voices from the world of design, technology and industry to explore the evolution of domestic settings in the light of different types of intelligence — natural, artificial and collective.
Developed by Veneta Cucine with the participation of Electrolux, Nextatlas and the Politecnico di Milano, the seminar focused on the home not merely as a functional place, but as a sensitive space — one capable of responding to contemporary needs through an ongoing dialogue between nature, technology, and community.
The domestic space, as a reflection of cultural and technological transformations, is deeply influenced by all forms of intelligence— which continually redefine its aesthetics, sustainability, and sense of well-being. This workshop offered a reflection on how different intelligences shape the design of living environments, generating new sensibilities and spatial paradigms. Raw materiality, emotional memory, and digital sobriety emerge as key elements in creating interiors that are more conscious, ecological, and psychologically balanced.
