In anticipation of the Design Thinking Workshop, which was held on December 2nd in Malta, a competition was organised for young design students from the island's MCAST School. Each participant had the opportunity to display their work during the event, and deal directly with industry insiders and designers who participated in the workshop, and evaluated the exhibited work by assigning marks.

Winners were announced during the Design Party. The first place winner was given the opportunity to do a short internship at Veneta Cucine in order to begin to understand how a designer should interact with the production world, and what are the steps needed to obtain a product.

This initiative, promoted by Fino & C. jointly with Veneta Cucine, is a clear example of the new vision companies want to share: encouraging local talent and ability while giving new designers the chance to earn recognition outside their area.
